Aurelina Rodriguez

Aurelina Rodriguez, who grew up in a bilingual home, has over two decades of experience as a pre-school assistant teacher at schools such as the Manhattan Center for Early Intervention, The Vanderbilt YMCA, and the Innovative Learning Center. Throughout her years of experience, Aurelina continued her education through workshops and seminars in order to remain current on the latest techniques and theories. Similarly, much of her work was influenced by her own education both during and after high school, when she received her certification in fashion design from the French Fashion Academy School of Design. Aurelina has achieved great success in helping children develop their own creativity as well as fine motor skills by teaching arts, crafts, and music. In addition to her love of arts and crafts, Aurelina has a wide variety of interests, including doll making and collecting, travel, photography, knitting, and sewing. Aurelina brings these interests to children in the classroom through a well-balanced approach to teaching, employing a broad range of activities to teach a particular concept. Additionally, Aurelina has always been involved in multicultural education, and loves to work with diverse populations. She also believes strongly in the need for good communication with parents. Aurelina is proud to be on the staff of La Escuelita, as it places an emphasis on learning through arts and crafts, and is a bilingual program, two aspects of early education in which Aurelina is a firm believer.
