Berenice Ruiz

Born and raised in Columbia, Berenice Ruiz moved to the United States as an adult.  She earned her Associates degree in Child Development from LaGuardia Community College and then continued to earn her Bachelors degree from City College.  Berenice has more then ten years of teaching experience, working with preschools in Queens as both an assistant teacher and a head teacher.  She has also worked with older students in a private summer school program.  Berenice began to teach at La Escuelita in September 2006.  She enjoys teaching through play and emphasizes socialization as an important influence on a child's development.
