Magdalena “Leni” Mediavilla was born in Spain where she lived until 2010. In Spain she worked in accounting but upon moving to the United States she opted for a career change to work with children. She began volunteering at La Escuelita, improving her knowledge, skills and abilities as an assistant teacher, deepening her experience with her studies at Hunter College. Additionally, she teaches classes to children who are learning Spanish as a second language. Leni brings to her teaching great enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of various arts from courses she took in Spain in the areas of interior design, ceramics, drawing, painting and crafts. Her work was recognized several times as the winner of the Carnival poster contest in the Santa Eulalia High School where she studied. Leni enjoys listening to children as well as sharing games and activities with them, in an effort to connect individually with every child. She appreciates and understands the need to personalize the attention that children receive to greater support their learning.
